Unnao rape survivor attacked, set on fire by 5 accused in rape case

Unnao rape survivor who was gangraped few months ago was attacked by 5 men who raped her and set her on fire for not withdrawing complaint.

She said in her statement to the police that five men first hit her on the head and attacked with a knife on the neck, they poured kerosene and set her on fire on the road early on Thursday.

She was admitted to the district hospital Unnao and later shifted to Lucknow civil hospital.

The victim is a 30-year old woman who was assaulted, stabbed and set on fire by five men when she was on her way to the railway station to catch an early morning train to Rae Bareli. She was stopped by the accused persons who were out on bail.

The people who saw that came to her rescue and the accused fled the scene. The police reached the site when the locals informed the police emergency number, Dial 112.

Vikrant veer, the Unnao SI said that three of the six men said by the victim have been arrested and are searching for the other three.

In the statement she said that she was going to Baiswara Bihar railway station at 4:30 AM. She was stopped by Shankar Trivedi, Kishore, Shubham, Shivam, Umesh and two others at the Gaura crossing. They raped her in March 2019 and she filed a complaint.
