Sukhoi fighter jet crashes in Nashik on test flight, pilots eject safely

Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jet which is on test flight crashed near Nashik in Maharashtra and pilots escaped safely.

The Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter jet was still in testing stage and was not handed over to the Indian Air Force.

The fighter jet was an under production aircraft manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Nashik. Sukhoi Su-30MKI is a twin-jet multi-role air superiority fighter and is crashed at Wavi-Tushi village near Peimpalgaon Baswant twon which is around 25 km from Nashik.

The police received information about Sukhoi fighter jet crash at around 11:15 AM and was crashed at 11:05 AM. Indian Air Force top officials at Ojhar Air Force station and police reached the crash site.

The aircraft was developed by Russia’s Sukhoi and is built under the licence by HAL and taken off from the HAL airstrip near Nashik.
