Speeding Audi hits people at bus stop in Coimbatore killing six

At least six people waiting at the bus stop in Coimbatore were killed and one injured after the driver of the speeding Audi rammed into the bus stop after he lost control of his car.

The driver of the Audi was heading to Coimbatore from Pollachi and he lost control of his car near Periyar bus stop at around 9:30 AM on Wednesday.

The Audi car hit the people waiting at the bus stop and it rammed into an autorickshaw parked on the road side in Sundarpuram near Coimbatore of Tamil Nadu.

Coimbatore accident victims have been identified as Somu aged 55, Suresh aged 43, Amsaveni aged 30, Subhashini aged 20, Srirangadas aged 75 and Kuppammal aged 60 as per the news reported in The News Minute.

The injured people in Coimbatore accident were shifted to a nearby hospital for the treatment. The Tamil Nadu police are investigating the accident case and the driver has been arrested. His blood sample has been collected to find out if he was drunk at the time of the accident.

The Audi car belonged to the owner of Raththinam College in Coimbatore.
