Sasikala nephew Dinakaran brought to Delhi for police interrogation

Expelled AIADMK deputy general secretary and also Sasikala Natarajan’s nephew, TTV Dinakaran was brought again to the national capital on late Saturday night by the Crime Branch for questioning.

TTV Dinakaran has been facing the heat after allegedly bribing an election commission official to secure the ‘two leaves’ symbol for the Sasikala Natarajan faction ahead of the RK Nagar by-polls which was eventually cancelled amid huge exchange of money for votes.

The Election Commission found out that Rs 89 crore was distributed among the voters by the Dinakaran faction to win the RK Nagar by-election which was to be held due to the untimely death of incumbent MLA and Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa.

Taken to Delhi’s Chanakyapuri area for questioning in the bribery case involving crores of rupees, TTV Dinakaran, the former Periyakulam MP is currently under a five-day judicial remand.

On his arrival at the Delhi airport, TTV Dinakaran declined to speak to the media who were waiting to question him regarding the Election Commission bribery case.

According to a report in the ANI, TTV Dinakaran confessed to the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police on Friday that he had met Sukesh Chandrashekhar who has been accused of being the middleman in the bribery case.

It was through Sukesh Chandrashekhar that TTV Dinakaran had allegedly bribed Rs 50  crore to an Election Commission official for the party symbol.

During a raid, the Delhi Crime Branch recovered about Rs 1.3 crore along with BMW and Mercedes luxury cars from Sukesh Chandrashekhar who was later arrested from Delhi’s Hyatt hotel last Monday.
