Priyanka Chopra appointed as UNICEF’s Global Goodwill Ambassador

Bollywood Actress Priyanka Chopra is appointed as UNICEF’s new Global Goodwill Ambassador.

Priyanka Chopra asked people of all nations to become the collective voice of distressed children in the world and to join hands with UNICEF to provide better future for future generations.

Football player David Beckham and British actress Millie Bobby Brown aged 12 years announced Priyanka Chopra’s appointment as newest global Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF.

70 Years celebration of UNICEF took place as a star studded ceremony last night. UNICEF is a children’s agency of the world.

Priyanka Chopra addressed top UN diplomats, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors and Children at the event said: “My wish for children is freedom. The freedom to think, the freedom to live”.

She said that man have been advancing in all the ways of life while children all over the world are facing violence, abuse and exploitation. She asked the people to fight against this injustice and save the distressed children.

Priyanka Chopra lauded the decades of efforts and service from the UNICEF in safeguarding the lives of children.

Other UNICEF Ambassadors Ishmael Beah, Beckham, other actors Orlando Bloom and Jackie Chan joined Priyanka Chopra at an event that celebrated 70 years of work of UNICEF for children.

Priyanka Chopra tweeted that her involvement with UNICEF began 10 years ago in India and she was committed to her new role as UNICEF’s global Goodwill Ambassador.

Over the past ten years with UNICEF, she visited many places and centers in India. She spoke with many young girls and their families during her field trips and empowered them with the right opportunities which are theirs.

Priyanka Chopra said that she feel proud to work with other dedicated ambassadors of UNICEF to help build a world where the children’s rights are respected and protected.
