Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stone of ‘Kashi Vishwanath Mandir Vistarikaran-Saundarayakaran Yojana’ (Kashi Vishwanath Temple Extension and Beautification Plan) on Friday which would be rolled out in four phases in Varanasi.
He inaugurated the project by keeping five bricks with name of the temple inscribed on it. The foundation stone is laid in the presence of Governor Ram Naik, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and state Bharatiya Janata Party chief Mahendra Nath Pandey.
Narendra Modi landed in Varanasi early today in an Indian Air Force plane at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport. He was welcomed by Ram Naik and Yogi Adityanath.
The work will begin shortly on the 40,000 square metre corridor.
