Nursing student Kavya commits suicide at college hostel in Anantapur

A nursing student identified as Kavya aged 20 years committed suicide at a college hostel on Kalyandurgam Road in Anantapur on Wednesday.

Kavya was a native of Sivarapuram village in Amarapuram Mandal was studying BSC nursing second year at Adarsh nursing college in Anantapur.

She complained of stomach pain in the classroom and went back to her hostel room on Wednesday morning. As there was no one in the hostel, she hanged herself in the room and committed suicide.

Afterwards, other students noticed it and informed to the college management. On the information, Two town CI Zakir Hussain and his team reached the hostel and shifted the body to the government hostel for postmortem. They questioned the fellow students about the incident.

Police said that the deceased studied in Telugu medium since childhood and suddenly shifted to English medium and she fell behind other students in the studies and had five back locks in the first year. She was upset with her studies and might have committed suicide for this.

Her family members expressed doubts about her death and CI said that case would be filed as per the complaint given by the family members.
