A fire broke out today in the afternoon time at Garib Nagar, Bandra East in Mumbai. Commuters are advised to stay away from the Bandra East ticket booking office.
Fire rescue personnel have rushed to the Bandra fire accident spot and are carrying out the rescue operations. The cause of the fire is not known immediately.
The area is inhabited by the slum dwellers and the fire is spreading fastly to the nearby huts. The Bandra fire accident area has deployed heavy police near the site.
The Harbour line has been closed from 4:25 pm because of fire. Some of the services between the Western harbor line that connects Bandra to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus have been suspended as given in a statement by the Central Railways.
However, the train services resumed soon on all lines at Bandra, Western Railways. As per the reports from Mumbai Fire Brigade, the fire is restricted to hutments in area which covered an area of about 300×300 along with the skywalk of railway station.
