Chennai software engineer death : Two days after mysteriously missing from his residence, a 44-year-old techie named Rajaram was found dead on Thursday in the narrow passage where sewer pipes are installed in a Chennai apartment.

The incident took place in the Jains Westminster apartment complex in Virugambakkam on the Arunachalam road.

Police have ruled out murder and revealed that the death could either be an accident or suicide.

Rajaram’s wife Deepa had filed a complaint that her husband went missing since Tuesday night. She said that Rajaram had gone to a nearby ATM to withdraw cash but never returned after that.

On Thursday, his dead body was found after residents started getting a foul smell from the passage leading them to call the Virugambakkam police who recovered a dead body which was soon established to be that of the missing Rajaram.

The techie’s body was shifted to the Government Royapettah Hospital for an autopsy to determine the reasons for the death and the time of the incident.

As per the police, Rajaram had the habit of going to the terrace of the high rise building to take phone calls as the signals are not good inside the apartment. The cops also said that the dead techie used to smoke on the terrace and suspect that on that fateful night he may have lost balance and fell into the passage.

However, if Rajaram had indeed slipped from the terrace to the ground floor, then it is difficult to understand that none of the residents or the watchman could not hear the resulting sound at the time of the incident.

Rajaram was working in an IT company in Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Kandanchavadi. The police intend to continue with their investigation in Rajaram death by finding out if the victim faced any issues at his office.

Rajaram is survived by Deepa, his wife and Rakshita, his daughter.
