Legendary Tollywood director Dasari Narayana Rao dies aged 75

Dasari Narayana Rao death News: Legendary Tollywood director, actor and former Union Minister, Dasari Narayana Rao, aged 75 died today in Hyderabad.

Dasari Narayana Rao was hospitalized over his critical condition early this year but his condition improved later. He was admitted in a private hospital in Secunderabad on January 29.

His treatment was continued at home and doctors used to visit him twice a day to check his health condition. Even a mini hospital was set up at Dasari Narayana Rao’s house.

Veteran Tollywood director Dasari Narayana Rao also got a place in Guinness record for directing many number of films.

For the past four days, he was undergoing treatment at KIMS hospital where he took his last breath on Tuesday evening.

Dasari Narayana Rao death news has come as a shock to Tollywood fraternity.

He is survived by his sons Arun Kumar Dasari and Hari Hara Prabhu. Most of the Telugu news channel are airing the Dasari Narayana Rao death news.

Dasari Narayana Rao was born to Maha Laxmi and Sai Raj at Palakollu in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.

He started his career as a director with the film “Thata Manavadu”. He showcased his talent in the film industry as an actor, director and producer.

Some of his hit films are Thata Manavadu, Shivaranjani, Premabhishekam, Meghasandesam, Gorintaku, Sardar Paparayudu, Bobbili Puli, Osey Ramulamma etc.

Awards received by Dasari Narayana Rao

Dasari Narayana Rao received Nandi Award for his first film Thata-Manavadu. He received gold Nandi for his film ‘Swargam-Narakam’.

Dasari received Nandi Award for Best Director for 1982 film Megha Sandesham. He received Nandi Award for Best actor for the 1992 film ‘Mamagaru’.

He received KalaPrapurna Award from Andhra University. He was also honored with NTR National Award in 2007 and Shobhan Babu first Memorial Award in 2009.
