Kangana Ranaut hurt on Manikarnika set; got 15 stitches on forehead

Kanagana Ranaut was injured on the Manikarnika set when she was shooting with her co-star Nihar Pandya on Wednesday.

The National Award winning actress got a deep cut between her eyebrows when she was shooting for a sword fighting scene for her upcoming movie “Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi”.

Kangana was immediately taken to the Apollo Hospital as she had suffered a great pain and blood loss. She got 15 stitches on her forehead and was advised rest for four days.

Talking about the incident the Queen actress Kangana reacted saying: “I am a bit embarrassed to be thrilled to have a battle scar on my face. Also, people from my team have been telling me that it’s like that ‘Peshwa teeka’ that ‘Manikarnika’ wore”.

Kangana added that: “It’s a bit dramatic, but I am excited that my face was covered in blood and I got a genuine and authentic glimpse of the Queen’s life”.


Kangana is undergoing extensive training in sword fighting under the guidance of Hollywood stunt director Nick Powell. She is also learning horse riding.

Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi director is Krish and Kangana Ranaut is playing the role of Rani Laxmibai.
