Indian couple dies while taking selfie in Yosemite National Park of California

An Indian couple died in Yosemite National Park in California after they fell from 800 feet in an area with steep terrain when they were trying to take a selfie.

The couple was identified as Vishnu Viswanath and Meenakshi Moorthy who fell from Taft Point in the Yosemite National Park in California.

Vishnu Viswanath’s brother Jishnu Viswanath said that they were taking a selfie from a popular view point which does not have a railing to protect visitors.

The bodies of the couple were recovered by the Park rangers last Thursday after people reported them after seeing an unattended camera on a tripod.

Park rangers used high-powered binoculars to find them and used helicopters to airlift the bodies.”

The couple through their social media posts shared their travelling adventures and also wrote a blog called Holidays and HappilyEverAfters.

The couple got married in 2014 and both of them were software engineers. They decided six months ago that he would take the job at Cisco and would live in California for a year.
