Ind vs Ban Only Test Day 1 Highlights : Indian batsmen enjoyed themselves on day one of the one-off Test, against Bangladesh at Hyderabad, as opener Murali Vijay and captain Virat Kohli both came up with hundreds.

Apart from hundreds from Vijay and Kohli, number three Cheteshwar Pujara made a fluent 83 as India finished the opening day of the India vs Bangladesh Only Test 2017 at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium on a strong 356 for 3. This was after Virat Kohli called correctly and decided to bat first.

At stumps on the opening day, Virat Kohli was unbeaten on 111 and Ajinkya Rahane, returning from injury, was batting on 45. Murali Vijay fell after he completed his hundred, for 108.

Skipper Virat Kohli, who has been in stupendous form over the last few months, continued his great run, and notched up his 16th Test hundred, and first against Bangladesh. He hit a total of 12 fours in all.

Before Kohli, it was Murali Vijay who got to his ninth Test hundred. The opener graced his way to 108, with 12 fours and a six. He was looking good for a lot more when he was out for 108 from 160 balls, sent back by Taijul Islam. Before him, Cheteshwar Pujara missed out on a hundred.

Vijay and Pujara continued their great run as a pair. The duo featured in a second wicket partnership of 178 as India recovered from a poor start. Their partnership was broken when Mehedi Hasan had Cheteshwar Pujara caught behind by Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim for 83. Pujara faced up to 177 deliveries and hit nine fours.

Earlier, India’s opening woes continued to haunt them. Lokesh Rahul was cleaned up by Taskin Ahmed off the fourth ball of the day.

The Hyderabad Test match also marked the return of Ajinkya Rahane from injury. He was expectedly preferred over Karun Nair, who hit a triple hundred in his previous Test. Ajinkya Rahane looked in good form, and hit seven fours in his unbeaten innings as India went past 350 by stumps.
