In response, Bangladesh ended day 2 at 41 for 1 in 14 overs on Day 2 of the Hyderabad Test match, losing the wicket of opener Soumya Sarkar. The Bangladesh openers had done a good job to keep India’s bowlers at bay, but a DRS review saw India get the first wicket before the close of play.

The feat made Virat Kohli the first player to score four double hundreds in four successive series. Don Bradman and Rahul Dravid had managed three. During his innings in the Hyderabad Test match, Virat Kohli also became the first Indian captain to slam four double hundreds.

Virat Kohli fell for 204, lbw to left-arm spinner Taijul Islam for 204. His innings featured 24 fours, and he faced a total of 246 deliveries.

Wriddhiman Saha and Ravindra Jadeja continued to frustrate Bangladesh. The wicket-keeper brought up his second Test hundred while Ravindra Jadeja finished unbeaten on 60 at which point Virat Kohli declared India’s first innings of the Ind vs Ban Hyderabad Test match.

Earlier on Day 2 of the Ind vs Ban Test 2017, Ajinkya Rahane made an impressive comeback into the Indian team, but could not convert it into a hundred. He got into the 80s, but was dismissed for 82 having featured in a 222-run stand with skipper Virat Kohli. Ravichandran Ashwin made a quick 34 from 45 balls to contribute his bit with the bat in the Hyderabad Test match 2017.
