Hyderabad coronavirus news : Owing to the drastic increase in Covid-19 cases, merchants doing business in Hyderabad’s Begum Bazaar and Lad Bazaar have decided to voluntarily close their shops for a week.
Lad Bazaar shops have been closed since Friday, while Begum Bazaar will see its the kirana shops closed from Sunday.
During a meeting of the Hyderabad Kirana Merchants’ Association, the growing number of Covid-19 cases was talked about and the members agreed to shutter all shops from 28 June to 5 July.
About 500 shops located across Begum Bazaar and Siddiamber Bazaar will be shut as coronavirus cases in the areas have gone out of control and there is hardly any information on who is infected and who is not.
Merchants of Lad Bazaar, who primarily sell bangles have already closed their shops since Friday. It is learnt that seven merchants lost their lives due to coronavirus.
It has been reported across the social media that healthcare in Telangana is in a bad state and Covid-19 patients are struggling to get admitted and cared for.
