Hindu group demands for ban on Bigg Boss Tamil and Kamal Haasan arrest

Bigg Boss Tamil controversy : The Kamal Haasan hosted Tamil reality show Bigg Boss Tamil is in trouble after a right-wing group leaning towards the BJP has demanded a ban on the show and an arrest of the veteran actor.

Bigg Boss Tamil which marks Kamal Haasan’s TV debut was launched in late June on Star Vijay channel.

In just a matter of few days, Bigg Boss Tamil has raked up controversy owing to the obscene content and political statements.

As per an NDTV report on the Bigg Boss Tamil controversy, the Tamil reality show has been accused by the Hindu Makkal Katchi of airing obscene statements and also of promoting nudity through the contestants.

The Hindu Makkal Katchi said that Bigg Boss Tamil was hurting the sentiments of 7 crore people of Tamil Nadu and had demanded the contestants to be arrested as they were hurting Tamil culture.

Contestants in the Bigg Boss Tamil Season 1 are Namitha, Ganesh Venkatraaman, Oviya, Raiza Wilson, Anuya Bhagvath, Harathi, Ganja Karuppu, Aarav, Snehan, Vayyapuri, Shakthi Vasudevan, Bharani, Gayathri Raguram, Sri Ram and Jallikattu Juliana.

Bigg Boss Tamil has also being accused of promoting communist and Dravidian ideologies. The right-wing group has also alleged that the lone non-celebrity participant Juliana is in the Tamil reality show only because she had talked against the Narendra Modi government during the Jallikattu protests.

Bigg Boss Tamil host Kamal Haasan has been on the radar of the Hindu Makkal Katchi which had filed a police complaint against the veteran actor few months ago for allegedly making derogatory comments on Mahabharata and carrying out an anti-Hindu stance.
