Five pilgrims killed in Tamil Nadu after government bus knocks them down

Five pilgrims who were on a visit to the hill shrine in Palani were mowed down by a government bus near Dharapuram in Tirupur district and one person was seriously injured in this accident.

The incident took place at around 5:30 am today morning when a group of devotees from Tirupur were walking to the hill shrine and the bus knocked them to death.

All the five piligrims including two women were killed on the spot and another person sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a government hospital in Dharapuram. Police are investigating the matter.
