Bollywood latest movie Aamir Khan’s Dangal box office collection on Day 1 has been reported as Rs 29 Crores.
Dangal was released on Friday, December 23, 2016 across 4000 plus screens in India. Out of the total Rs 29.78 crores collected, Tamil and Telugu versions of the film accounted for Rs 59 lakhs.
The latest Aamir Khan movie is a sports biopic and made a massive start at the box office despite demonetization. It has done excellent business by collecting Rs 29-30 crores. With this, Dangal has become the second highest non-holiday opener as reported by the Box Office India.
The first highest non-holiday opener was Salman Khan’s “Sultan” which collected Rs 36.74 crores and was released on Eid. It has collected Rs 6 crores more than Dangal.
Interestingly, both the top collected films – Sultan and Dangal were based on Wrestling drama.
As per the film critics, Dangal is expected to cross Rs 100 crore mark in first three days of its release. Dangal played well in Northern states.
This is Aamir Khans second highest collecting film, the first one being ‘PK’ that collected Rs Rs 25.45 crores.
Dangal was directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The film has been receiving praises from both audience as well as critics.
The film is expected to break all the records and can create history at the box office.
