Bollywood personality, Phir Hera Pheri director Neeraj Vora dies aged 54

Neeraj Vora death news : Neeraj Vora, an actor, writer and director in Bollywood passed away in a Mumbai hospital in the early hours of Thursday, aged 54.

According to the Indian Express, Neeraj Vora died at 3:00 AM in Juhu’s Criti Care hospital.

Last year, Neeraj Vora had a heart attack which was followed by a stroke that took him into coma stage. Film producer Firoz Nadiadwala took Neeraj Vora to his house where he converted on of his rooms into a temporary ICU.

Neeraj Vora was cremated this afternoon in Santa Cruz in Mumbai.

The Bollywood director had started making the third movie of the comedy hit Hera Pheri when he had the heart attack.

Earlier in his career,  Neeraj Vora worked as a writer for Circus, the TV serial that featured a young Shah Rukh Khan much before he became a Bollywood superstar.

Neeraj Vora made his debut as an actor in the 1984 movie Holi, directed by Ketan Mehta with Aamir Khan in the lead role. He went on to act in other Bollywood movies like Rangeela, Akele Hum Akele Tum, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Mann, Virasat, Company and Pukar among others.

Neeraj Vora was last seen as an actor in the 2015 Bollywood movie Welcome Back featuring Anil Kapoor.

The actor cum director is credited for writing the original Hera Pheri movie in 2000 and another comedy hit – the 2006 Rohit Shetty directed Golmaal. Neeraj Vora went on to be the director of Phir Hera Pheri, the second movie in the Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty combination in the Hera Pheri series.

He has six movies to his credit as a director which include Khiladi 420, Phir Hera Pheri, Familywala,  Shorkut: The Con Is On, Run Bhola Run and Hera Pheri 3.
