Baahubali 2 becomes the first Indian film to collect more than 100 Crores on the first day of the film’s release.
Baahubali 2 was released worldwide on April 28 in around 9000 theaters worldwide of which 6500 theaters had screened the film in India.
In India Baahubali 2 had collected around 40 crores each in both Telugu and Hindi languages.
Baahubali 2 prebookings in Hindi itself accounted for around 36 crores. Collections in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam accounted for 60 crores on Day 1 of Baahubali release.
Baahubali satellite rights were sold for 51 crores in Hindi and 28 crores in Telugu.
Baahubali 2 has been the highly anticipated film and was dubbed in multilanguages and was seen as the first truly national film and had a grand opening on first day itself.
The opening day box office collection reflects the anticipation of the audience to know the reason why Kattappa killed Baahubali.
Baahubali 2 faced many troubles to get released in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, the film was released after solving all the odds and managed to collect a commendable amount of 14 crores from Tamil Nadu, 100 crores from Karnataka and 4 crores from Kerala.
The film is expected to collect and reach towards 1000 crore mark in its collections.
Ram Gopal Varma tweeted that the films will now be grouped as before Baahubali and after Baahubali.
SS Rajamouli directed the film and Anushka, Prabhas and Rana Daggubati played the lead roles.
