Andhra techie dies after falling off bridge at Chennai Airport

In an unfortunate incident, a 32 year old Andhra techie working for an IT company in Bengaluru lost his life after falling off a bridge at Chennai airport at around 6:30 am on Monday morning while he was talking on phone.

The deceased man was identified as Chaitanya Vuyuru and he fell from the departure bridge near gate number 4 of the domestic terminal. The man originally hailed from Vijayawada.

It was reported from eye witness that the man was sitting on the railing of the flyover and fallen off from there. As per the CCTV footages, the man was not trying to take a selfie nor talking to someone else sitting on the railing. The flyover is used to drop the passengers at the domestic and international departure terminals.

Police are trying to check out if it was a case of suicide or accidental death. The man suffered serious head injuries with multiple fractures on his skull.

It was reported that Chaitanya was not carrying a bag and he did not have any air ticket also. A police officer reported that he might have an e-ticket in his Apple iPhone mobile which was damaged in this accidental fall. Another phone was also recovered but it is malfunctioning after the fall from a 10-foot high flyover.

An identity card has been recovered from Chaitanya and police informed the accident details to his father Janardhana Rao. He and his family rushed to Chennai from Vijayawada and they said that they did not know why he came to Chennai.

The Chennai airport police filed a case under section 174 of CrPC means a case of unnatural death and the investigation is on.
